Abstract: <p>Silicon-containing dendrimers including Si–Si bonds (polysilane dendrimers), Si–C bonds (carbosilane dendrimers), Si–O bonds (siloxane dendrimers), O-Si–C bonds (carbosiloxane dendrimers), C-Si–N bonds (carbosilazane dendrimers) and N- &gt; Si(O<sub>3</sub>)C bonds (silatrane dendrimers) are reviewed as well as hydrosilylation reactions in dendrimers. Applications of Si-containing dendrimers are summarized and discussed, in particular recent ones, especially in the areas of inverted monomolecular micelles, nanocomposites, films, sheets, protecting and antifouling coatings, electronic, photonic, and magnetic devices, sensors, encapsulation, purification, decontamination, catalysis and nanomedicine.
