NdFeO3 Anchored on Co-MOF as nano-photocatalyst for Efficient photo-degradation of TC drug from Water

The present investigation involved the fabrication and application of NdFeO3@Co-MOF to remove antibiotic pollutants from wastewater. The fabrication process of NdFeO3@Co-MOF involves two steps: combustion and solvothermal techniques. Analysis of as-prepared samples using zeta potential, XPS, scanning electron microscopy, mapping, ultraviolet spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction revealed the proximity of NdFeO3 and Co-MOF. The prepared materials were evaluated for its ability to degrade tetracycline. The NdFeO3@Co-MOF photocatalyst has exceptional photocatalytic performance when exposed to visible light. The photocatalytic activity of NdFeO3@Co-MOF is notably higher when compared to bare NdFeO3 and Co-MOF. An optimal degradation efficiency of 98.17% was attained by employing the optimised reaction conditions, which included a TC concentration of 25 ppm and a catalyst dosage of 35 mg. In addition to identifying possible photocatalytic mechanisms, the inquiry analysed the dominant active species. In conclusion, the study found that the optimised nanocomposite, composed of NdFeO3@Co-MOF, demonstrated notable photocatalytic activity against TC. The prepared composite was further evaluated for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory characteristics exhibiting significant activity.
