摘要

Patients with end-stage kidney failure need low-cost, high-performance hemodialysis substrates. Here, we have created a multipurpose ZIFs-MOF anchored amberlite polymer with strong regeneration, dialysis, and adsorption capabilities. ZIF-8 and ZIF-67 nanocrystals were introduced uniformly and stably using in-situ growth technique on the amberlite polymer, a unique adhesive layer modification technique was applied. The produced ZIF-8@amberlite polymer and ZIF-67@amberlite polymer showed efficiently absorb cresol sulfate at a high rate 345 mg g− 1 and 577 mg g− 1, respectively. On the other hand, creatinine was shown to have adsorption capabilities of 484 mg g− 1 and 632 mg g− 1, respectively. The adsorption behavior was accurately illustrated by using the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir isotherm. The adsorption mechanism of cresol sulfate and creatinine onto ZIFs@amberlite polymer was based on their interactions between the functional groups of cresol sulfate/creatinine and active sites of composites. ZIFs@amberlite polymer showed excellent adsorption and superior recyclability made it recommended for use in hemodialysis machines.
