A Coumarin Derived 2-Methylthio-4-Hydroxypyrimidine[3,4-b]coumarin Fluorescent Chemosensor for Detection of Hypochlorite Ions in Aqueous Medium
摘要
A coumarin derived 2-methylthio-4-hydroxypyrimidine[3,4-b]coumarin chemosensor (CTH) was successfully designed and synthesized for detection of hypochlorite ion, an important reactive oxygen species (ROS) in aqueous medium. The chemosensor (CTH) exhibits significant selectivity for hypochlorite ion over other ROSs with fluorescence “turn-on” response within few seconds. Moreover, emission titration experiments results revealed that reported sensor detect hypochlorite ion with 16 nM detection limit. Further, mass spectrometry analysis indicated that oxidizable 2-methyl-sulphur arms of sensor CTH is responsible for detection of hypochlorite ion.
