Structural and Photoluminescent Investigation of Eu3+ Doped Ca5(PO4)3Cl Chloropatite Phosphor by Modified Pechini Method: Crystal Structure and Judd–ofelt Description of Radiative Properties
摘要
The preparation of new phosphor with outstanding luminescent properties for white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs) is consistently a challenging. Here in the present study, A novel white-emitting chloropatite phosphor Ca5(PO4)3Cl:Eu3+ was synthesized via the pechini sol gel synthesis with citric acid and polyethylene glycol (PEG) acid as a fuel at 850 °C systematically investigating the impact of doping concentration and synthesis temperature on both photoluminescence properties and crystal phase. The structural characteristics and crystalline nature of the prepared sample were investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra. The Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis provided insights into particle size and the sample morphological behaviour. In photoluminescence spectra (PL), Under 265 nm, 395 nm and 465 nm excitation, the synthesized Ca5(PO4)3Cl:Eu3+ phosphors exhibited an orange emission peak located595 nm and a red emission peak located614 nm due to the 5D0 → 7F1 and 5D0 → 7F2transitions of Eu3+ ions.Blasse and Dexter’s formula was employed to clarify the mechanisms of concentration quenching. Calculations of CIE chromaticity coordinates further elucidated the generation of orange- red light through luminescent transitions. Additionally, Judd–Ofelt (JO) parameters (Ω2, Ω4) and various radiative parameters derived from Judd–Ofelt theory were investigated based on the photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra. Therefore, all this present work and detailed explanations of Ca5(PO4)3Cl:Eu3+ activated phosphor shows their promising potential for applications in solid-state lighting and displays. The remarkable properties of the Eu3+ singly doped Ca5(PO4)3Cl phosphor suggest its viability for use in optical materials.
