Pyranine Interaction with Amines in Micelles
摘要
The fluorescence behavior of pyranine in anionic micellar system of sodium dodecyl sulphate was studied in the presence of selected amines. The amines included cyclopropylamine (CPA), ethylenediamine (EDA), benzylamine (BA), dibutylamine (DBA), cyclohexylamine (CHA), and polyethylenediamine (PEDA). All the studied amines quenched the intensity of pyranine. Study was performed in 0.05 M and 0.1 M SDS. The thermodynamic parameters were determined in order to understand the quenching of pyranine by the studied amines. Change in Gibbs free energy and quenching was found higher in 0.05 M SDS concentration and was found lower when SDS concentration was increased to 0.1 M SDS. Pyranine quenching by the amines studied were treated with an extended Stern-Volmer equation that produced the Stern-Volmer constant (
