<p>The radiation exergy and the conversion of solar energy into exergy were calculated for the industrially developed cities, located in the Marmara region of Turkey, with the use of the monthly average values of the solar radiation and the ambient temperatures in these cities for the last five years. The calculations were performed using the approaches by R. Petela, D. C. Spanner, and S. M. Jeter. The results of these calculations give real ideas about the solar energy potential of the indicated region of Turkey. The data obtained allow one to calculate the economic return of investments and can serve as a reference for other academic studies on this subject.</p>
