Enhancing the microwave absorption properties of BaFe12O19 by introducing MWCNTs and rGO
摘要
The microwave absorption properties of barium hexaferrite composite with multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) have been investigated. The hexaferrite sample was prepared via a one-step co-precipitation method using NaOH as the precipitating agent. The prepared ferrite showed irregular spherical morphology. The conductive fillers, such as MWCNTs and rGO, have been used to enhance the absorption properties of barium hexaferrite. It has been seen that 5% MWCNTs and 5% rGO by weight showed an elevated microwave absorption behavior. A maximum reflection loss of − 36.46 dB at 9.39 GHz with an effective bandwidth (EAB) of 1.82 GHz at 4 mm thickness has been observed. The presence of synergistic effects between interfacial relaxation-polarization and conductive losses after the addition of MWCNTs and rGO in the barium hexaferrite enhanced the absorption properties of the barium hexaferrite.
