Magnetic and electrochemical exploration of Ni/NiO nanocomposite synthesized via dicarboxylate co-precipitation method
摘要
The Ni/NiO nanocomposite was successfully synthesized at low temperature using the Co-precipitation method and extensively characterized for its thermal, structural, magnetic, and electrochemical properties. XRD analysis confirmed its crystalline nature, with Rietveld refinement revealing a cubic structure comprising 83.78% NiO and 16.21% Ni. Thermal analysis showed a three-step weight loss process, with complete oxide formation occurring at 350 °C and activation energy of 0.2038 eV. DTA exhibited two endothermic peaks at 126 °C and 239 °C, indicating dehydration and decomposition processes. FTIR confirmed Ni–O bonding, while SEM and HRTEM revealed an agglomerated morphology with distinct crystalline fringes. Magnetic measurements showed irreversible behavior up to 370 K, suggesting potential magnetic applications. Electrochemical investigations established a remarkable Cs of 533 F/g at 6 A/g with outstanding stability, retaining 92% of its capacitance after 5000 charge–discharge cycles. The outstanding electrochemical performance, combined with structural and thermal stability, highlights the potential of Ni/NiO nanocomposites for energy storage applications.
