Effect of FeNi powder on the magnetic properties of FeSiBNbCu nanocrystalline soft magnetic powder cores
摘要
The development of high-performance soft magnetic materials offers significant potential for enhancing the electromagnetic performance of magnetic powder cores, enabling their broader applications in high-frequency power electronics. In this study, a novel Fe-based soft magnetic composite was fabricated by combining ultrafine FeNi powder with FeSiBNbCu nanocrystalline powder. The influences of FeNi addition on the microstructure, relative density, and magnetic properties of composite magnetic powder cores were systematically investigated. It was found that the ultrafine FeNi powder effectively filled the inter-particle voids among the FeSiBNbCu nanocrystalline powders. That leads to enhanced densification and improved magnetic properties. When the FeNi content reached 50 wt.%, the composites exhibited optimal comprehensive properties, including a density of 6.55 g/cm3, a relative density of 86.95%, an effective permeability (μe) of 36.16 at 1 MHz, a core loss (Pcv) of 2731.10 mW/cm3 under 50 mT and 1 MHz, and DC bias retention of 82.49% under a 100 Oe DC magnetic field. These results demonstrate that FeNi addition plays a crucial role in tailoring the microstructure and enhancing the soft magnetic properties of Fe-based composites. This study provides a promising strategy for designing advanced Fe-based amorphous soft magnetic composites for high-frequency applications.
