Effect of Sm3+ Co-doping on structural and photoluminescence properties of NaBaB9O15: Dy3+ phosphors for W-LEDs application
摘要
The Dy3+/Sm3+ co-doped NaBaB9O15 phosphors are synthesized by the solid state reaction method and their structural and photoluminescence properties were investigated by XRD, FTIR, luminescence spectra, CIE 1931 diagram and decay curve analysis. The phase formation was evaluated through XRD pattern measurement, and the different functional groups existing in prepared phosphors are identified by FTIR spectral studies. SEM images were recorded for optimized phosphor to analyze the surface morphology. The emission spectra exhibit emission bands corresponding to both Dy3+ and Sm3+ ions when excited at 350 nm. The energy transfer mechanism between Dy3+ and Sm3+ ions was discussed in detail by using Blasé and Dexter relations. The CIE 1931 color chromaticity diagram was used to determine the dominant emission color and it is found that the title phosphors emit neutral white light under near-UV excitation. The excited state lifetime of studied phosphors are examined with the help decay analysis. All these studies were carried out at room temperature only. The results obtained from above investigations are compared with the similar reported phosphors.
