Near‐infrared scintillation properties of Nd-doped BaO–Bi2O3–B2O3 glasses
摘要
BaO–Bi2O3–B2O3 glasses doped with 0, 1, 5, 10, and 15% Nd concentrations were successfully synthesized by the melt-quenching technique. The obtained samples exhibited photoluminescence and scintillation in the near-infrared region. The photoluminescence and the scintillation of the samples originated from 4f–4f transitions of Nd3+. The 5% Nd-doped sample exhibited the highest scintillation intensity among all the obtained samples. The lower detection limit of X-ray dose rate was 0.1 Gy/h, which was obtained with the 5% Nd-doped sample.
