摘要

Supercapacitors have emerged as a potential alternative due to their remarkable energy and power density properties. This study reports hydrothermal synthesis of efficient and cost-effective strontium oxide (SrO) materials for supercapacitor applications. The porous structure with mixed phase like morphology of SrO contributes to improve the electrochemical performance. The SrO electrode achieved a specific capacitance and capacity of 483.17 F/g and 241.51 C/g at scan rate 5 and 1 mV/s in cyclic voltammetry analysis, while galvanostatic charge–discharge measurements reveal a high specific capacitance and capacity of 463.97 F/g and 204.15 C/g at current density 5 A/g and 1 A/g, respectively. The electrode material exhibits impressive specific energy of 13.48 Wh/kg and 6.70 Wh/kg and a specific power of 169.23 W/kg and 1692.31 W/kg at current density of 1 and 10 A/g, respectively. The stability testing reveals a significant capacitance retention of about 94% after 3000 cycles. These results suggest that porous structure with mixed-phase SrO possesses considerable potential for use in advanced energy storage systems, offering a balance of performance and stability.
