Study of structural and spectroscopic properties of Dy3+ ions doped potassium magnesium molybdate single phase phosphor for white lighting applications
摘要
A series of K2Mg2(MoO4)3 (KMM) phosphors doped with Dy3+ ions was synthesized by the solid-state reaction (SSR) method. The crystal structure, morphological behaviour, and photoluminescence (PL) properties were investigated through instrumentation techniques like X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and spectrofluorophotometer. The KMM material is a member of the P212121 space group and has an orthorhombic structure. FTIR (Fourier transform infrared) measurements were used to identify functional groups inside the host lattice. The optical bandgap was computed from the diffuse reflectance spectrum (DRS) data. The synthesized phosphor material exhibits a 4f transition of Dy3+ ions, excited by 387 nm, and the most intense emission peak was observed at 576 nm. Double exponential behavior was seen in the PL decay spectral profiles taken under excitation wavelength of 387 nm. The CIE coordinates of the prepared phosphor lie in yellowish white region. We wish to propose Dy3+ ions doped KMM phosphor as a viable solution for applications in white light emitting diodes (w-LEDs).
