Treatment of water and effluents from methylene blue dye by using high-performance Fe3O4/rGO/ZnSe/TiO2 magnetic nanocomposite
摘要
The pollution of effluents and wastewater from industries with methylene blue (MB) dye is one of the great concerns at present. Methylene blue is very hazardous and toxic for humans and the environment. In this research, Fe3O4/rGO/ZnSe/TiO2 magnetic nano-compounds were prepared by a hydrothermal approach for the photodegradation of methylene blue. The results showed that Fe3O4/rGO/ZnSe/TiO2 magnetic nanocatalyst had perfect photocatalyst activity and after 40 min of UV irradiation, methylene blue dye was degraded, completely. The structural and morphology properties of Fe3O4/rGO/ZnSe/TiO2 nanocomposites were studied by Raman, EDS, FT-IR, VSM, XRD, FESEM, and TEM analysis. The FT-IR, XRD, and EDS analysis confirmed the successful fabrication of Fe3O4/rGO/ZnSe/TiO2 nanocomposites. The VSM analysis showed that the prepared nanocatalyst had excellent superparamagnetic behavior. The Raman analysis showed a reduction of graphene oxide nanostructure during the synthesis process. Based on the experimental results, Fe3O4/rGO/ZnSe/TiO2 magnetic nanocomposites have good potential to be used as high-performance nanocomposites for the treatment of effluents and wastewaters from methylene blue.
