Modulation of magnetoelectric coupling in the low frequency regime

摘要

The modulation in the magnetoelectric (ME) effect at extremely low frequency of 10 Hz via Zn substitution has been observed in the particulate composite. The composite comprises magnetic Ni1−xZnxFe2O4 (NZxFO) (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 & 0.5) and ferroelectric 72.5(Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3)–22.5(Bi0.5K0.5TiO3)–5(BiMg0.5Ti0.5O3) (MBNT) in fixed weight proportion of 1:4, respectively. The remarkable increase in ME coefficient (~ 58.12 mV/cm.Oe for MBNT-NZ0.3FO composite) has been observed upto x = 0.3 followed by a subsequent decrease, which is correlated to the piezomagnetism and initial permeability of pristine NZxFO ceramics. The variation in the magnetic properties is attributed to the site occupancy of Zn cations, which has been identified by the Raman spectroscopy. The non-linear ME behavior in the domain of low frequency has been detected.
