摘要

Designing robust, affordable, highly sustainable and, flexible paper-based electrodes to generate green hydrogen employing the most promising water electrolysis technique. In this work, we prepared a two-dimensional Ti3C2TX nanosheet using the HF-assisted etching synthesis method and utilized it for the fabrication of electrodes on cellulose paper by a simple hand-printing technique. Herein, multi-layered Ti3C2TX nanosheets supported on cellulose paper provides a large surface area that boosts the HER activity. Fabricated electrode required 295.9 mV overpotential to reach 10 mA/cm2 current density, showing prominent HER performance in an alkaline medium. Additionally, the Ti3C2TX electrode demonstrated high stability over 15 h at a cathodic current density of 10 mA/cm2. Overall, this work represents a viable and cost-effective route towards viable applications for environmentally friendly hydrogen generation.
