Review: superhydrophobic antibacterial coatings in food preservation packaging
摘要
Superhydrophobic antibacterial coatings exhibit significant potential in the domain of food packaging. The synergistic effect between superhydrophobic coatings and antibacterial agents not only enhances the self-cleaning properties of contemporary food packaging but also further improves its inherent antibacterial efficacy. Currently, there is a limited review of superhydrophobic antibacterial coatings within the domain of food packaging, with a predominant focus on the integration of substrates and superhydrophobic coatings. Therefore, this review focuses on the applications of superhydrophobic antibacterial coatings in various foods (liquid food, meat, fruits and vegetables), and its antibacterial mechanism is discussed in depth. Comparative evidence that superhydrophobic antimicrobial coatings reduce the risk of microbial contamination of food products and extend their shelf-life. This paper seeks to summarise the relevant experiences, examine the developmental trends of superhydrophobic antibacterial coatings in food packaging, and offer a comprehensive review to inform future research in the field of food preservation packaging.
