摘要

The grain size of medium manganese steel does not have a linear correlation with corrosion resistance. The primary factor influencing the corrosion resistance is the formation of a passivation film. In this study, we analyzed the composition and thickness of the passivation film formed after electrochemical corrosion on three samples quenched at different temperatures to gain detailed insights into its mechanism of formation. The presence of Cu element leads to the generation of a robust electronegative substance called CuFeO2, which attracts other metal ions to form a dense and thick passivation film. This film effectively hinders Cl from combining with other metal ions in manganese steel, significantly enhancing its corrosion resistance.
