<p>This research examines a comprehensive overview of the state of the literature on ethics in scholarly and scientific research and publication by applying a gender perspective. To achieve this aim, a bibliometric analysis was conducted using data from Scopus, with 983 articles and reviews that cover the period from 1975 to 2024. The database was cleaned, gender was detected based on Gender-API and authorship credit was determined using a fractional counting method. Performance analysis and science mapping were performed by using Bibliometrix and biblioshiny. The results reveal an increasing tendency of documents published on the theme but, it also detects that male authors have greater participation than female authors in production and collaboration. Authorship by country differs in proportions, but in both cases, the United States ranks first in production, and the Americas show a significant contribution. Finally, thematic areas are unveiled based on the connection and frequency among authors' keywords and their relation with the five main areas within ethics in research and publication, from a gender perspective, in order to stimulate future research.</p>
