Electrochemical salicylic acid detection based on covalently amine group functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes modified carbon felt sensor
摘要
A practical electrochemical sensor for the salicylic acid detection based on an amine group functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes modified carbon felt electrode (MWCNT-MAn/CFE) has been reported in this study. Morphological and structural characterizations of MWCNT-MAn were carried out by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, while the electrochemical measurements were conducted using cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry techniques. A remarkable increment in the salicylic acid oxidation peak current with a facilitated electrochemical reaction was obtained with MWCNT-MAn/CFE compared to the plain CFE. Under the optimum conditions, MWCNT-MAn/CFE exhibited a linear response in the range of 10–250 µM for salicylic acid with a limit of detection of 0.044 µM. Also, the proposed sensor was successfully applied to the salicylic acid detection in pharmaceutical samples.
