Mentoring School Leaders in the Age of Technological Innovation
摘要
As digital, virtual learning, and Artificial Intelligence platforms evolve, practitioners and researchers are interested in learning how these innovations can impact mentoring for school leaders. Given my background in developing and implementing mentoring programs, this commentary explores the potential uses, cautions, and recommendations when using these technological innovations. Effective mentoring relationships rely on mentors’ compassion, empathy, and personal insights, which cannot be duplicated by digital tools and machine learning. Therefore, I argue that technology-enhanced mentorships must incorporate a hybrid approach by balancing the efficiencies of technology with mentors’ judgment, decision making, and care.
