Curiosity and Me
摘要
This short article is a reflection on the nature of curiosity by a 10 year-old. The author narrates the experience of being curious and doing activities with curiosity. Children collaborate with grown-ups in doing these activities. Collaborative activities include making silly putty from cornstarch, soap, oil, and food dye, balancing on a board, and observing the night sky together with a small telescope. The whole group of participants is open to spontaneous developments and unexpected creative explorations. The author appreciates and advocates for the impromptu nature of these activities, where the child’s own curiosity is respected, where the children act on their curiosity, and where the adult participants encourage children in following their current interest and inspiration.
