<p>Effective approach has been developed for predicting the residual welding stresses and strains in the large-sized structures based on the combined use of general thermoplasticity methods and approximate inherent strain method within the framework of the theory of elasticity. The application of this approach is demonstrated for the specific welded joints using practical examples leveraging modern software and computational tools to rapidly assess welding-induced strains. All examples address the specific production issues and highlight the versatility of the developed approach.</p>
