Influence of Friction Modifiers on Loading, Wear, and Service Life Characteristics of Railway Transport Equipment
摘要
This study presents a mathematical model of dynamic interaction between the rail tracks and moving vehicles during spatial oscillations in track sections with small radii of curvature incorporating the influences of friction modifiers. The model enables estimating the intensity of wear of the side surfaces of rail heads and wheel flanges as well as the safety factor against wheel derailment under varying friction coefficients. The results have demonstrated that the use of friction modifiers significantly reduces the wear intensity of the side surfaces of rail heads and wheel flanges in curved sections with small radii of curvature, while notably increasing the safety factor against wheel derailment.
