Peculiarity of Evolution of Onlinear Elastic Wave with Different Initial Profiles*

A previously unexplored fragment of the evolution scenarios of six types of nonlinear elastic waves in materials has been analyzed. It has been demonstrated that four of these waves exhibit a peculiarity of the evolution plots of the initial profile, marked by the emergence of a new hump in the actual profile. In the profiles with an existing hump, this hump symmetrically splits, while in the profiles with a barely noticeable hump, such hump appears approximately at the mid-through. Monotonically decreasing initial profiles without any hump do not produce humps in the actual profile.
