Analytical Solution of Geometrically Nonlinear Problem for Long Sandwich Plate

The geometrically nonlinear problem for a long rectangular sandwich plate under a uniform surface load has been formulated and analytically solved. The basic equations have been derived using the geometrically nonlinear theory in the quadratic approximation, the curved-normal hypothesis, and Hooke’s law for transversely isotropic materials. The exact expressions for the components of the stress-strain state of the sandwich plate with clamped longitudinal edges have been obtained. Numerical results for both the geometrically nonlinear and the linear boundary value problems have been presented for three options of mechanical parameters of the core material.
