Analysis of Exact Solution of Problem on Receding Contact of Two Elastic Strips on Semi-Infinite Interval

A smooth receding contact of two dissimilar elastic strips undergoing the action of the load uniformly distributed over a semi-infinite interval on the upper surface of the upper strip is considered. Based on the exact solution of the problem, the behavior of contact stresses and the dependence of the separation parameter on elastic constants of materials are studied for various values of the strips thicknesses and rigidities ratios. In particular, the limiting cases with these ratios increasing indefinitely are considered.
