Receding Contact of Two Elastic Strips on Semi-Infinite Interval
摘要
A plane static elasticity problem on a smooth receding contact of two elastic strips is considered. The upper strip undergoes the action of a constant load distributed over a semi-infinite interval, while the other strip is rigidly fixed over its lower surface. Using the Wiener-Hopf method in combination with the apparatus of the Fourier integral transformation, an exact analytical solution of the problem is obtained. The contact stresses and the distance from the projection of the point, which lies at the end of the interval with the applied load, to the point, at which the tearing off of the lower strip begins, are determined.
