The conceptions of decent work and characteristics that influence it among Swiss students in vocational and professional education and training
摘要
This study examined how 770 Swiss students in vocational and professional education and training define decent work, addressing a gap in literature. Through questionnaires, researchers collected definitions along with demographic, psychological, and education/work-related data. Deductive qualitative analysis identified 14 key aspects, including fair pay, physical and psychological safety, and sufficient rest and leisure—aligning with the Psychology of Working Theory. Positive workplace relationships were frequently emphasized, while respect for workers emerged as a cross-cutting theme. Definitions varied by gender and educational track. The findings enrich theoretical understanding of decent work and provide valuable insights for educators, counselors, employers, and policymakers.
