Career counseling in schools: experiences and perspectives of career counselors
摘要
Career counseling plays a key role in guiding students toward informed decision-making about their professional future, but in Kosovo it remains a developing field with systemic challenges. This study examines the experiences and challenges of career counselors in public schools on the basis of interviews with 12 counselors from 7 regions. The findings highlight the ambiguity of their role, overlap with school psychologists, and lack of resources. Difficulties in involving parents and a lack of specialized training are also identified. The study highlights the need for integrating career counseling, improving professional development, and institutional support.
