<p>This research tested the social cognitive career theory’s career self-management model, for female student workers, regarding their perceptions of social support and their effects on self-management and career outcomes. A quantitative survey study was conducted with 321 Brazilian women, both students and workers. The results indicated that occupational self-efficacy and functional coping were serial mediators in the relationship between social support at work and career outcomes. Functional coping played a mediating role in the relationship between family social support and career outcomes. The results highlight the importance of social supports in education and employment policies to promote social justice and equity.</p>
