<p>The interplay between career development and positive psychology can empower individuals to cultivate the essential skills to foster a positive future orientation. This study examines the effect of the character strengths of wisdom, career adaptability and optimism on future orientation and the mediating role of career adaptability and optimism between character strengths of wisdom and future orientation. 246 Italian late adolescents participated in this study. A serial multiple mediation model showed that the character strengths of wisdom have a positive effect on future orientation through career adaptability and optimism. Practical implications for interventions were identified.</p>
