摘要

Thermodynamic quantities of a classical gas enclosed in a finite size container are examined. Confinement can have many important effects when there is zero potential within. But the effect may even become more important if the gas experiences a potential. Using a potential which is a variance of the supersymmetric partner of the particle in a box, we have shown that there is a significant change in thermodynamic properties such as internal energy, Helmholtz free energy, entropy and heat capacity. We have shown that like many other potentials, this particular potential also shows variation of specific heat with temperature that passes through a maximum.
