How much the Analogy Between Thermal Waves and Optical Waves is Valid? A Comprehensive Review
摘要
If the Fourier equation of the heat flux is modified to account for the finite time that is needed for the heat transmission the resulting equation for the temperature behaviour in the case of the time harmonic solutions comes out to be an equation equal to the telegraph equation in the electromagnetic case. The consequences of this circumstance allow to treat a number of problems in analogy to the optical case, albeit with some important differences. In the present paper some of these cases are treated showing the analogies and the differences.
