Simulation of Operating Regimes of Two Gyrotrons with a Common Resonant Reflector
摘要
The operating regimes of two gyrotrons with a common narrow-band weakly reflective resonator are theoretically studied for different values of mutual detuning of the gyrotron eigenfrequencies. The study is based on numerical simulation in the approximation of single-mode operation with a fixed longitudinal field structure in each gyrotron. It is shown that with appropriate adjustment of the guiding magnetic fields and the delay phases of the reflected wave, coherent generation of both gyrotrons at the same stabilized frequency is possible. In this case, the eigenfrequencies of the gyrotron cavities can differ from each other by an amount exceeding the frequency stabilization bandwidth of one gyrotron by the reflected wave, and the radiation power of each gyrotron exceeds the power of its autonomous operation. Exit from the coherent regime at the same frequency in both gyrotrons is accompanied by beats. The simulation is implemented using the example of powerful gyrotrons at a frequency of 170 GHz, developed at the IAP RAS as a prototype for ITER.
