Mapping the Landscape: A Bibliometric Analysis of Research on Emotion Regulation and Serious Games
摘要
The field of research on the use of serious games for emotional competence development such as emotion regulation is still in its early stages. However, these games have been shown to promote well-being and mental health, as well as to improve emotional symptoms associated with anxiety and depression. This study presents a bibliometric analysis based on a Web of Science (WoS) search using Boolean syntax for ?serious games? and ?emotion regulation.? Data were processed and visualized with specialized tools, including HistCite, BibExcel, and VOSviewer. A total of 106 records were identified, including journal articles and conference proceedings. The analysis mapped key authors, research networks, institutions, and journals, as well as the most cited references and central topics in the field. Findings provide insights into thematic trends, geographic distribution, and emerging research areas, offering a foundation for future studies and practical applications in clinical and educational contexts.
