Factors Influencing Educators’ Technostress While Using Generative AI: A Qualitative Study
摘要
The introduction of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) into education represents a paradigm shift, offering both opportunities and challenges for educators. This qualitative study examines the perspectives of higher education (HE) educators on the use of GenAI tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, and GitHub Copilot, focusing on their influence on learning outcomes, pedagogies, and assessment. The criteria for choosing participants—47 educators from different universities—were based on the participants’ use of Gen AI in teaching their courses and their willingness to share their experiences on the use of AI GenThe research employs deductive and inductive thematic analysis to identify and analyze themes related to the integration of GenAI in education. Findings reveal that educators perceive GenAI as a potential tool for enhancing personalized learning experiences, content creation, student engagement, and innovative teaching methods. However, challenges such as ethical considerations, the need for training, the quality of generated content, academic integrity, and policy regulation are highlighted as significant concerns that need to be addressed to harness the full potential of GenAI in education effectively.
