<p>The demand for green batteries for IoT devices is increasing now-a-days because these batteries are cheap and eco-friendly. Electrolytes are essential components in most of the conventional batteries. Traditional electrolyte materials are typically based on chemical solutions. However, it is well recognized that the use of chemical electrolytes has severe implications for the environment and aquatic life, due to the emission of toxic elements. Owing to growing concerns related to greenhouse gas emissions and environmental sustainability, both academic and industrial communities have begun to explore renewable sources as alternative solvents that are not only environmentally friendly but also sustainable. For the first time, this paper presents a semi-solid herbal electrolyte aimed at reducing carbon emissions. This electrolyte is used to design a herbal battery that is 100% chemical free, cost effective and eco-friendly. The proposed herbal electrolyte consists of a mixture of aloe vera gel, garlic paste and Kashish Hara in appropriate proportions. Kashish hara and garlic paste are natural herbal components. This proposed electrolyte is non-toxic, non-hazardous, and thermally stable, making it safe for replacement without causing environmental harm. The proposed battery exhibits rechargeable and regenerative properties and is resistant to fire. Furthermore, the proposed electrolyte remains stable under temperature variations and does not produce heat even at T = 70&#xa0;°C. Experimental results indicate that the proposed semi-solid electrolyte has better electrochemical stability and capacity than the liquid electrolyte. Using this semi-solid Herbal electrolyte, we can run IoT sensors, calculators and portable electronic gadgets ranging from low to medium power consumption for longer duration due to enhanced capacity.</p>
