Resistance is one of the fundamental parameters of resistor. Usual method of measuring [1] the resistance of resistor is through multimeter and is compared with value evaluated from its colour code. We know that every such resistance value of resistor has tolerance, which is represented in percentage. But the value of resistance obtained by these methods may not specify the exact value considering tolerance. Hence, this article addresses these issues i.e. to evaluate the value of resistor considering tolerance. An experimentation to evaluate these values is done using IoT system which is developed in our laboratory. IoT system facilitates to make iterative observations remotely. Data handling, plotting, using python based software is easily carried out using IoT system. The proposed system was validated with 46 carbon composition resistors of 1kΩ, and results were statistically analysed and compared with traditional multimeter readings. This approach supports remote learning and reliable laboratory training in electronics.
