摘要

Advanced conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy (CEMS) techniques using a synchrotron Mössbauer source (SMS) have been developed at BL11XU of SPring-8. The excellent beam properties of SMS γ-rays, such as fully recoilless, extremely high brilliance, a small beam size, and pure linear polarization, facilitate sample measurements in special environments and micro-Mössbauer spectroscopy. This paper describes the development of instrumentation and demonstration for 57Fe nuclei using the synchrotron-based CEMS, including in-situ CEMS of a magnetic thin film under cryogenic and ultra-high vacuum conditions, operando CEMS of a voltage-applied magnetic/dielectric thin film, and local region Mössbauer analysis of weathering steel using micro-focused SMS γ-rays.
