摘要

The present work investigates the wear rate of AA2219 composites that include nano Zirconium diboride (nZrB2) reinforcement. Reinforcing percentage was changed from 0.6 to 2.4 wt% in 0.6wt% increments while fabricating composites utilizing the powder metallurgy technique. The matrix and nZrB2 were analyzed using Energy Dispersion Spectroscopy (EDS). A pin-on-disc (POD) wear testing machine is employed to determine the wear rate (WR). This study used a Taguchi orthogonal array L16 experimental strategy to obtain how different processing variables affected the WR of a dry sliding surface. Signal to Noise ratio(S/N ratio) and the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) technique was employed to optimize process factors like Load (L), sliding speed (S), and reinforcement percentage (R). WR shows to be most affected by L (73.65%), then S (14.17%), and R (9.80%), the projected confidence interval at the 95% level of certainty. Worn out morphological analysis is made in this study through Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis. Having been considered, AA2219 characteristics may be greatly improved by adding nZrB2 reinforcement particles, which makes the alloy more successful and adaptable in applications that are challenging.
