摘要

For Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET), two laser dyes were tested: Acriflavine (Acf) and Rhodamine B (RhB). The efficiency of energy transfer from Acf to RhB was shown to be sensitive to the presence of Copper (II) in the clay dispersion. When Cu + 2 ions are present, the dye pair’s FRET efficiency in clay dispersion can drop by up to 56.5% (at high Cu+ 2 concentrations). We have developed a photo-regulated sensor utilizing this feature to detect the presence of copper in drinking water.
