Development of unified model for size and shape dependence of melting temperature
摘要
The contemporary analysis is used to evolve a simple integrated model for the shape and size dependence of melting point. As we know melting temperature depends upon cohesive energy. By using the BK model with the different values of k = 1 and 2, we find the value of cohesive energy for calculating the shape and size of Co and Ag nanoparticles for spherical shape and compare with experimental data then found that for the value of k = 2 the best suitable fit with the experimental data, in this research work also found the cohesive energy for different shapes tetrahedral, octahedral, spherical, wire, icosahedral, dodecahedral, film and bulk and found cohesive energy decreases with increase in size.
