Electrical conductivity behaviour of aqueous solutions of methylene blue at different temperatures using impedance spectroscopy

摘要

The complex dielectric permittivity, ε*(f) of aqueous solutions of methylene blue (MB) at various concentrations and temperatures was measured in lower frequency range (20 Hz − 2 MHz) using Agilent precision LCR meter. From ε*(f), complex impedance Z*(f), complex conductivitym*(f) and loss tangent (tan δ) were calculated. Loss tangent and conductivity spectra were used to calculate the electrode polarization relaxation time ( \( {{\tau }}_{\text{E}\text{P}}\) ) and molecular conductivity ( \(\wedge _m), \) respectively. The study provides insight into the effect of variations in the concentration of MB in aqueous medium and temperature on its electrical characteristics.
