Review on production, mechanical properties and applications of metal matrix composites

Lakhs of products are being produced as human beings are more amenable to luxurious living using various technologies. With this the demand for new materials has increased. Especially materials with high strength and light weight are particularly demanding the attention of researchers. Materials like Metal matrix composites due to their unconventional properties like high temperature stability, specific strength, and wear resistance are highly in demand. They exhibit unique properties like strength, good toughness, corrosion resistance and wear properties etc. This paper aims at discussing various methods of producing Metal matrix composites, applications of Aluminium -Metal matrix composites in different business and mechanical industries. The study also focuses on various reinforcement materials used in composites.
