Detection of Interturn Short Circuits by Measuring the Impedance of the Generator Rotor Winding
摘要
Electromagnetic analysis is performed, and recommendations are provided for detecting interturn short circuits in generator rotor windings using impedance measurements. When the rotor is inside the stator, factors such as the electromagnetic properties of the materials, power frequency and voltage, slot wedging conditions, and the position of short-circuited turns within the rotor slots are considered. The effect of the measurement conditions for the rotor outside the stator at both the factory and the power plant is examined. Amaximum sensitivity criterion for the method of detecting interturn short circuits at utility frequency, based on the reactance parameters of the rotor winding, is established.
