The Results of Experimental Studies of Seismic Resistance of Reinforced Concrete of Hydrotechnical Structures with External Composite Reinforcement

In order to increase the seismic resistance of long-term reinforced concrete structures of hydraulic structures, experimental studies were carried out on the use of external reinforcement technology with carbon fiber-based composite materials. Structural elements of the underwater part of buildings and water intakes of run-of-river hydroelectric power stations were selected for the study. They can be approximately considered as a spatial frame system. A fragment of a reinforced concrete frame system including vertical (walls) and span (floors) elements was made. The results of experimental studies of a reinforced concrete model without and with reinforcement with carbon-composite tapes, taking into account seismic effects, are presented. Under the influence of forces from external composite reinforcement systems, a significant increase in the seismic resistance and strength of reinforced concrete structures occurs.
