Bank Erosion and Damage to Bank Protection in the Downstream Pool of Hydraulic Structures During Spillway Operation
摘要
The article explores the issues related to erosion of unprotected banks and damage to their stabilization structures in the downstream reaches of hydroelectric schemes during spillway operation. The study covers 10 hydraulic facilities where banks were damaged due to wave and velocity effects. Examples are given both for the case of jet throw-off from the structure and for the option of excess stream power dissipation against the bank protection.
