Measures and Means to Reduce the Aperiodic Component of Currents and Method for Preventing Damage to SF6 Circuit Breakers in EHV Networks Implementing Blocking of Unipolar Current Disconnection

The article presents an analysis of existing measures and means to reduce the aperiodic current component, which is dangerous for SF6 circuit breakers. An assessment of their effectiveness for various initial conditions for the occurrence of transient processes is given. A method for preventing damage to circuit breakers, which implements blocking of unipolar current disconnection, is proposed and described. The possibilities of applying methods for various scenario conditions for the occurrence of an aperiodic current component are generalized.
